The Harlem Globetrotters exhibition basketball team is loved throughout the world for their brilliant ability to combine comedy, theater and amazing basketball skills. Although the Globetrotters originated in Illinois, their original manager decided to call them the "Harlem Globetrotters" because Harlem was the epicenter of African-American society and culture at that time.
