Landmarks

Harlem is fortunate to be home to many New York City Landmarks and National Historic Landmarks that celebrate the cultural and architectural beauty of the community. Some of these landmarks are the 369th Regiment Armory, Harlem Court House, IRT Broadway Line Viaduct, 12 West 129th Street, and Wadleigh High School for Girls, to name just a few. Students will learn about these landmarks with our Harlem Landmarks Lesson Plans. The lessons are available for elementary school, middle school and high school students. We also have a supplemental lesson available to help reinforce what the student has learned. The lesson consists of ten vocabulary words, ten fun facts on the topic and a word search puzzle.
